The director took some liberties with the way the Transformers look and transform, especially with Megatron but come on who would be afraid of a Robot that transforms into a Gun. And it just wasn’t practical for such a huge robot to transform into a little gun.

The movie also seems to be of a darker theme then the cartoon, but again, the cartoon was targeted at kids not adults which is what the director wanted to do. Which in my opinion is exactly what he should have done. I grew up with The Transformers but now that I’m older I don’t want to see the live action version resemble what I saw as a kid.

All in all I think the movie is going to be awesome. I can’t wait to see it.

There are tons of promotions already starting to start a spark in interest to the Transformers franchise again. There is a new series on Cartoon Network Called “Transformners : Cybertron” and Hasbro is still churning out the awesome merchandise. More info can be found at these links.
