We cleaned the house, continued to unpack from the move and even put the bed on it’s frame, it was still on the floor.

At the same time my band and I had to be at an event that evening in Springfield, MA so my wife, baby and I needed to get ready early so I would have time to setup my drums, and as we were heading out the door around 6:30PM my wife gets a call from her niece; HAPPY ANIVERSARY! she exclaims. I could not hear anything from the other end but my wife immediately says, “it’s not today”, then she turns to me and asks for the date to which I said, “I DUNNO”. Turns out it was July 28th and it was our 2 year anniversary and we totally and utterly forgot.

When I started this blog I began documenting about someone special I was smitten about. Little did I know that a little over a year after that post I would be proposing marriage to this wonderful woman I call Josie.

The first year was a whirl wind with the surprise that a baby boy was coming. Josie was amazing during her labor and she gave me a beautiful baby boy we named Josiah Samuel Mateo.

Our second year of marriage has mostly been about the little one as you may have noticed the most popular tag is Josiah, but on this most momentous occasion I wanted to make this post all about my baby Josie.

This blog used to be chock full of post about you babe and I wanted to take the time once again to make you the focal point of my life. I want to thank you and exalt the most wonderful woman in the world, the one God had for me. The one who loves me despite all my flaws. The one who made me a a proud father. The one who makes me laugh. The one who will always be there for me.

Josephine Mateo, I love you more today then I did yesterday and I will love you more tomorrow than I love you today. Happy Anniversary Babe!!!

They gave her some medicine to get the cervix to open more in the morning but not any more during the rest of the day due to the constant contractions. We will stay over night and she will continue to get monitored.

My parents will unfortunately probably not be able to see their first grandchild.

It’s Monday and no baby yet so if nothing by tonight at 8AM tomorrow morning Josie will start getting induced.

We had a bit of a scare on Saturday, I am amazed how kids change you and he hasn’t even born yet.

My band and I had a wedding to play at on Saturday and I was there most of the day setting up the drums then the wedding and what not. Josie was home getting ready to accompany me. It was quite the hectic day to say the least.

On our way home after the wedding, around 10:30PM she mentions she doesn’t think the baby has moved. I said are you sure? She said yes. So we proceeded to try to make him move. Josie and I push him from one side to the other which usually works and nothing.

We bought this thing to be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat at walmart for 20 bucks and though it was faint we could hear the baby a couple of times, other times we couldn’t. Well this was one of those other times. At this point I was really getting worried.

The midwife had said if we had any doubts about the baby’s movement to call. Better safe than sorry. So it’s about midnight and we called and she set us up to go to the Birthing Center to get her hooked up and monitored.

As soon as they put on the heartbeat monitor I breathed a sigh of relief. Josiah was fine. The nurse gave Josie 2 cups of juice and gave her a button to mark when ever she felt him move. Turns out the sweetness in the juice makes babies move around and kick. We did not know that. Well after almost 2 and half hours of monitoring we went home and were able to sleep soundly all three of us.

Well,
It’s day 283 of Josie’s pregnancy which means Josiah is three days over due. Our midwife told us it’s ok for now but at 42 weeks she would have to be induced if no baby by then. Josie is fine not really in any discomfort. I’ve read of some women being in so much discomfort they actually start inducing they’re own labor, naturally but still. Anyway…

The problem with inducing at 42 weeks is that my parents won’t be around. They are going on a missionary trip the day after the 41 weeks, next Wednesday. And since this is their first grandchild they really want to be here when the baby is born so the midwife agreed to induce her labor at 41 weeks, next Tuesday, if and only she doesn’t give birth on her own.

We’ve been trying a couple of things but nothing, he just doesn’t want to come out. Are there any suggestions/methods you all might have? Did anyone of you all have any over due babies? If so, did you have to get induced?

Josie is due on the 13th and that is only 4, count it, f-o-u-r short days away and she is doing great. She’s had a little bit of pain but nothing major. We’re both excited for baby Josiah Samuel to be born. Wondering who he will look like, what skin color he will be and all those good things. I know birth is not easy for women and Josie is a strong woman but I still would encourage your prayers for a safe birth.

Just last Sunday we took a trip to my cousins house to watch the Celtics kick the Hawks butt on a 50″ high Def Plasma TV, hehehe, but also to take some Maternity Photos being that we had not taken any, I know, I know, bad me. So here they are. If you’re a friend of mines on MySpace you can leave your comments there or just leave them here. Enjoy!
