It was Josie’s birthday on the fourth and this is what we do to friends on their birthdays. They get a face full o’ frosting.

Her birthday this year was a little less extravagant. Now that we are planning to get married we need to save as much money as possible, so we just had a little family and friends get together at my home.

Ok,
Took me almost a month to update everyone on what happened on our 1 year anniversary but I promise this was worth the wait.

It was a couple of days before the anniversary and I had no idea what to do for our 1 year anniversary. I had exhausted every idea I could think of during the previous eleven months so I was at my wits end. Josie kept asking me what we are going to do for the big anniversary and I kept telling her I had no idea. She probably thought I was making it up but I wasn’t.

The day before the BIG day I was out at a shopping plaza with a friend while she was inside one of the stores with another friend. My friend was just there bouncing ideas off me trying to figure out what to do and I just sat there looking out into the parking lot, then it came to me. What is the single most important thing I could do on an anniversary? Yes ladies and gents… I would propose marriage to my beautiful girlfriend on our one year anniversary.

Now all I had to do was figure out how and I only had about 24 hours to figure it out. Immediately my friend and I began brainstorming.

11 Months Just Flew By Originally uploaded by ProSam.

A little late to post about our 11 month anniversary but better late then never.

So much has happened in these eleven months and I wanted to properly commemorate the occasion so I ordered another photobook but this one just included pictures that where not included in the last photobook. The pictures included in this photobook where all taken in the time between photobooks. There weren’t many photos but there where some good ones, you can see them here. I also used a lot of our photos and a cool tool from flagrant disregard to create a CD cover. This CD cover was to be used to gift Josie a Mix CD of the greatest love songs of all time. I also prepared a CD Label to be placed on the CD itself with a picture of us. And last but not least I prepared one of my famous mini greeting cards. I was pressed for time so I looked up a very good love poem and wrote it iin by hand. I ofcourse gave credit to the author.

So our anniversary date fell on the same day the church was to go on a trip to Philadelphia for the council’s children’s convention. So I setup to give her all three gifts in different ways, all of the on the fly, meaning I had to think of ways to give it to her right on the spot without her noticing and it was going to be tough since we would be inside my car for most of the day, she being right next to me.

It’s like the old saying says “Time flys when you’re having fun“. It’s been ten months and wow what a ride. We’ve had our low lows but we’ve had high highs.

Lately we’ve been having to deal with a lot of issues but I believe it has only made us stronger. We are getting to know each other on a more personal level and sometimes that means seeing the worst in each other and trying to deal with it.

Josie is the love of my life and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. I am just glad that we both have the maturity to work out our differences now it only shows that we will be able to overcome any obstacles in the future.

Sundays is Josie and I’s day to go out. We set this day a part to be together for a long period of time, usually about 6 to 7 hours, I usually pick her up around noon time. Of course we have to bring a chaperone with us, but it’s cool. We can usually find someone that is pretty cool. The only thing that sucks is that I have to usually end up paying for all three of us. This makes for costly weekends for me, most of the time. Sometimes I just pick her up and we eat at home and watch a movie or something.

Lately Josie has been sleeping in late on Sundays, mostly for good reason, but this cuts into our time together and yesterday was one of those days. I got a little upset but I picked her up around 3 pm and we went to eat at a new chinese buffet, already, the day started off on the wrong foot. We had a good time and what not but what came next was one of our stongests test to date.

Seems like yesterday we started flirting with each other but yes folks it’s been Nine Months.

Just the other night Josie and I were remenicing about those first few days, weeks, months. We’ve come along way and many things have happened to us both, some good some not so good. The thing is we both have loved the ride, though it has been bumpy we have had the opportunity to do it together.

Baby, I love you. You make me smile every day just by thinking about you and for that I thank you.

On Monday March 6th my father left for Costa Rica so he could look after our church there. We had a couple who where in charge of the church who where there for three years but could not stay any longer. They are originally from here and they found it very tough acclimating to the new environment and culture. So now my father is down there to releave them of their duties and God only know how long he will be down there. We need to find a new pastor to install at that church which we can trust.

Sunday night before he left he gave some parting words in which he instructed the church to obey the co-pastor as if it where him. A lot of times people do not respect the co-pastor and my father was making sure that where not the case. One other thing he announced that night was that Josie and I are officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Josie and I have been waiting for this for a while now, even though everybody knew it, it was important to us that it where official.

Well the eight month anniversary came and went and there wasn’t much fanfare as both Josie & I were too sick to do anything. I spent the weekend leading up to the anniversary in bed with a severe cold & cough, as well as her. Today she is even worse then I was. I’m going to be taking her to the hospital as soon as I get out of work cuz she just doesn’t feel good at all. She’s caughing all the time and the coughing is causing her to throw up. I feel so helpless, I wish I was a doctor so I could diagnose and treat her myself.

The youth was pleasantly surprised tonight as the rest of the church took upon themselves to give us a special service complete with gifts and food. It was an awesome night.
