A Month Has Come & Gone

Saturday marked the month that my pastor/father gave me an Josie to continue with our “friendship” stage of the relationship and I’m not sure what comes next or what we’re going to do, but I think my father/pastor will be announcing that Josie and I are officially a couple with all the benefits of a couple being available to us. Dating, going over to her house, holding hands and kissing… Yes kissing. LOL. This ofcourse has to all be done with chaperones present, except the kissing ofcourse.

Please continue to pray for us, we truly appreciate all your prayers.

Winnie the Pooh & Us

Winnie the Pooh & Us Originally uploaded by Sammy.

Most girls seem to grow up favoring some type of childhood cartoon character and Josie is no different. Her fave is ofcourse. Pooh Bear.

Josie and I are doing good. Our relationship is growing slowly and even though I’ve been a little anxious sometimes I’m learning that slower is better.

In my previous relationships things happened so fast that I got accustomed to that and now I’m finding it a bit hard to slow down, but it’s all worth it for this girl. There have been some bumps in the road lately but they have mostly been of my own fault. This relationship thing is a whole thing on its own, I learn more as I go along. She brings out the best in me and I pray that if it’s God’s will she be my significant other.

Keep praying for us and God Bless.

Birthday Dinner at Olive Garden!

All Smiles! Originally uploaded by Sammy.

Well the plans didn’t quite turn out as they were supposed to but in the end Josie’s Birthday dinner was a complete success. You can click on the link below to read more or click on the image above to see a small gallery of the night.

First, my original double date (chaperones) had to cancel on me because of a family emrgency and had to scramble to find a new couple. So I asked my friend Alexandra who is married to my cousin Jose to join us, the only problem was to make sure they didn’t have plans and that I could find a baby sitter for their three kids. After several hours and several phone calls everything worked out.

Yesterday was NOT the DAY!

After sitting down with our Pastor (my father) he convinced us it would be a better idea if Josie and I stood as “friends” at least a month longer. Though we were already in the “friend” stage it was not really publicly known in our church, so he is going to announce officially that we are “friends” today. By it not being public there were a lot limitations to the “friend” stage and that was what was really bugging me; I could not talk to her in public, I could not be seen standing with her by ourselves, stuff like that. I know it sounds a little extreme but there were some really special circumstances that lead to these rules. But thank God they will no longer exist as of tonight. I will be freely able to talk to her in public and show our fondness for each other in public without getting in trouble.

So we’ll see in a month were we stand. If God permits then and only then we will officially announce our legitimate couple stage. As always please continue to pray for us.

Doing Nothing…

So this weekend you might have noticed the band was out on some gigs. Friday we were in Hyde Park, MA a suburb of Boston for the first day of a youth campaign. Unfortunately the whole band wasn’t able to make it and it was only me (drumer/singer), Yeisie (singer) and my cousin Jorgie (guitar/keyboard) there and we put on about a 25 to 30 minute set since it was only three of us and all the Glory to God we believed we rocked the house. LOL. No but all kidding aside the Lord was exalted and praised and the spirit moved, it was a good night though we were out at almost 1AM.

On Saturday we had a gig at 4PM and we were at the venue at about 3 to setup the equipment. This time the whole band minus one was there. The keyboardist was given the wrong information and she wasn’t able to make it. We were all little upset since the music doesn’t sound the same when there is an integral part of the band missing but we still played and once again the spirit moved and the Lord’s name was exalted. Glory To God! Again another long day since it started at 4:30 and ended at 10PM we got back home to Western Mass at 20 minutes to 3AM. We were all really tired.

As for Josie…

I had not seen her since Friday, so Sunday I planned a little get together with Josie, Yeisie and Jorgie as we went out and had lunch and rented a movie. It is quite hard for today’s world to understand but we have several rules in place in our church and way off life that say that interested parties are not to go out on dates alone so that explains why my sister and my cousin tagged along with Josie and I. But hey it’s fine with me as I still get to spend time with my Chula and have fun my with my family at the same time. So we did have a great time and I enjoyed every minute I was with Josie. Our relationship grows more and more everyday and I’m so excited to see what will come next.

In celebration of how our relationship is going along smoothly I handed Josie my latest gesture today during lunch. She was much more surprised that I went to visit her at lunch then anything else. Though I was only there for a minute since my job is almost 25 minutes away and I only get an hour of lunch. She again loved the card though she doesn’t show much emotion but I know she is ecstic and very much flattered with how much I care about her. The card featured an illustration on the front of two teddy bears on a hill in the glow of the moonlight. The inside stated “I just love the way you and I have so much fun together doing nothing”. This is so true. Sometimes I just stay on the phone not saying anything just sitting there knowing she is on the other line is great. When ever we are out together is the same thing. Just hanging out laughing and playing is awesome. What I wrote in the inside went something like this:

Mi Chula,
I would spend every waking moment in your presence, if I could.
I dont want to hang up when on the phone,
I dont want to leave when in person.
Doing nothing has never been so fulfilling.
Te Quiero Buchitooo! ;-)
(Inside Joke. LOL)

I know, I know, I’m the sweetest thing. LOL. Josie I know your reading this so STOP. I don’t want you reading my inner most thoughts. The rest of the world can but not you. LOL.

Me, Josie & The July 4th Weekend!

Me & Josie Originally uploaded by Sammy.

Well it’s almost official so here it is people. This is my “Friend”. If you were astute enough, and most of you are, you would have noticed it was her a few days or weeks ago.

Josie is the wonderful young woman who I am enamored with. We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend together along with the youth of our church.

The weekend started off with the youth holding our first ever educational conference at the Hampton Inn in Chicopee. The conference was a success and we hope that the young people that where there took home with them the necessary knowledge and confidence to know that they can finish school, continue their education and for those who dropped out that there is still a chance for them to do something with their careers. The speakers where great and it was good time all around. I ofcourse sat with Josie at one of the tables and had a good time in her company.

You can read more about our youth by visiting our site Christs-Soldiers.com

At the conference I slipped my latest gesture (a mini greeting card) into her folder before it was given to her and watched as she found it. Her face lit up once again and I ofcourse was happpy to see it. This card said nothing on the front but it illustrated a teddybear at the top of a hill looking upwards at the stars; the inside read “Just me thanking my lucky stars for you.”. I know, I know, sooo sweet. I love those little cards. So I wrote another poem. And it went something like this:

Actually I thank God,
He and only He Deserves Thanks,
For creating such a beautiful person,
Internally & Externally,
He and only He Deserves Thanks,
For allowing me to marvel,
At her beuty and sincerity,
Lord, I am forever in your debt!

On Sunday the youth took a field trip to Look Park once again just to have some fun and relax in the sun and get in the famous spray park. :) We played volleyball, ate, sunbathed, ate played in the spray park and did I say that we ate. We also took the opportunity to celebrate a birthday for one of the newest members of our youth. It was a surprise to him and he loved it. Again, I spent most of the day in the company of Josie as we joked, talked, and spent more good times together.

Monday, July 4th, we were set to spend the day at Mari’s home (Youth Member). Her, Becky (Sister) and parents would be hosting our first ever youth July 4th party. We ate a little bit then took a trip to Forest Park where we played basketball, ran through the spray park, and took a dip in the pool. It was really hot out. Thank God for spray parks and pools. Once we where done at the park we headed back to the house where we ate s’more and socialized for a bit before we played some games and started watching a movie. The fireworks started at 9:30 so we headed towards downtown at about 9pm and watched the fireworks from afar. Once again, Josie and I were inseparable, I really enjoyed her company the whole weekend. It will be memories we will keep for the rest of our lives.

Now that the cats out of the bag of sorts, I feel more relieved and happy to show some affection in public. There were some issues with bringing things to the surface and we needed to sort them out before anything was made public. Thanks to God for he deserves all the glory and praise. Thank you God for Josie.
