Minor Hit & Run Accident
Dent with Door Closed Originally uploaded by ProSam.
On Friday Night May 12th, 2006 I was victim of a
When I heard the thump I screamed like a little girl. OMG my brand new car has just been victim to it’s first accident.
I got out of the car and looked in disbelief at the dent in the door.
First thing I said was S#*T!!! (I was really upset.) Then I proceeded to tell the other
As soon as I turned around to get some shelter from the rain the girl sped off. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t able to get any details from her but Josie was able to get a partial plate number.
Luckily Josie was a little more observant then I and did recognize one of the other passengers in the car.
The police came and I described the car as best I could.
A Black
I told the officer we might be able to track down the other driver and he told me to do so and then call the police department and update them.
Monday morning May 15th I call my insurance to report the accident and they tell me that if I can’t find the other car I will have to pay a $500
So I immediately call Josie and my sister so they can track down the girl Josie had recognized in the car.
At around 4PM that day I get a phone call letting me know that my sister was able to track down someone else who was in the car and told her that the Driver lived near my house. After a few trips around the area she mentioned did not result in finding the culprit my sister goes back to the passenger and she gives her the culprits phone number.
I was extatic now I could use the number to find out exactly where she lived.
I got off work at 5PM and was trying to hurry home to find the culprit.
As I’m nearing my home taking my usual route to my residence I see what I believe is the car from that night, a Black Dodge Neon. I thought to myself, “it cannot be this easy”. I looked through my mirror as I passed by and recognized the partial plate numbers but I wanted to make sure.
I went around the block and came back and took a real good look at the plate and sure enough there it was the Black Dodge Neon that hit me and ran.
I parked and walked up to it to get more proof and sure enough there it was. The mirror that had been broken during the incident had been duct taped together to make it driveable.
