Me, Josie & The July 4th Weekend!
Me & Josie Originally uploaded by Sammy.
Well it’s almost official so here it is people. This is my “Friend”. If you were astute enough, and most of you are, you would have noticed it was her a few days or weeks ago.
Josie is the wonderful young woman who I am enamored with. We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend together along with the youth of our church.
The weekend started off with the youth holding our first ever educational conference at the Hampton Inn in Chicopee. The conference was a success and we hope that the young people that where there took home with them the necessary knowledge and confidence to know that they can finish school, continue their education and for those who dropped out that there is still a chance for them to do something with their careers. The speakers where great and it was good time all around. I ofcourse sat with Josie at one of the tables and had a good time in her company.
You can read more about our youth by visiting our site Christs-Soldiers.com
At the conference I slipped my latest gesture (a mini greeting card) into her folder before it was given to her and watched as she found it. Her face lit up once again and I ofcourse was happpy to see it. This card said nothing on the front but it illustrated a teddybear at the top of a hill looking upwards at the stars; the inside read “Just me thanking my lucky stars for you.”. I know, I know, sooo sweet. I love those little cards. So I wrote another poem. And it went something like this:
Actually I thank God,
He and only He Deserves Thanks,
For creating such a beautiful person,
Internally & Externally,
He and only He Deserves Thanks,
For allowing me to marvel,
At her beuty and sincerity,
Lord, I am forever in your debt!
On Sunday the youth took a field trip to Look Park once again just to have some fun and relax in the sun and get in the famous spray park.
We played volleyball, ate, sunbathed, ate played in the spray park and did I say that we ate. We also took the opportunity to celebrate a birthday for one of the newest members of our youth. It was a surprise to him and he loved it. Again, I spent most of the day in the company of Josie as we joked, talked, and spent more good times together.
Monday, July 4th, we were set to spend the day at Mari’s home (Youth Member). Her, Becky (Sister) and parents would be hosting our first ever youth July 4th party. We ate a little bit then took a trip to Forest Park where we played basketball, ran through the spray park, and took a dip in the pool. It was really hot out. Thank God for spray parks and pools. Once we where done at the park we headed back to the house where we ate s’more and socialized for a bit before we played some games and started watching a movie. The fireworks started at 9:30 so we headed towards downtown at about 9pm and watched the fireworks from afar. Once again, Josie and I were inseparable, I really enjoyed her company the whole weekend. It will be memories we will keep for the rest of our lives.
Now that the cats out of the bag of sorts, I feel more relieved and happy to show some affection in public. There were some issues with bringing things to the surface and we needed to sort them out before anything was made public. Thanks to God for he deserves all the glory and praise. Thank you God for Josie.
